Court Awards KCL’s Client Triple Damages and Attorneys’ Fees

KCL Jeremy Y. Weltman

A Massachusetts Judge awarded KCL’s client triple damages and attorneys’ fees under c. 93A in a lawsuit brought against a developer/contractor.

After a hearing held in late June, the Norfolk County Superior Court Judge ruled that due to the jury finding that the contractor engaged in deceptive and unfair conduct, tripling of the jury verdict on the breach of warranty claim was appropriate, along with an award of the client’s attorneys’ fees incurred in pressing the matter forward through trial.

In May, the Norfolk County jury ruled in favor of KCL Litigation Partner Jeremy Y. Weltman’s clients, finding that the developer/contractor’s work on the clients’ home was riddled with building code violations and material defects.
