Students and families often try to defend themselves or negotiate with school districts, private schools, colleges, or universities without fully understanding the laws and rights available to them. For example, if a student is suspended or expelled from school or facing other disciplinary action, the student has the right to a fair hearing. At this point, students and families should hire an attorney who concentrates in Education Law in order to ensure the student is adequately represented.
